Break-time for Breakdowns

On the 17th of January, I worked for 19 hours straight.

I closed from my 9–5 job, got home and continued my side hustle job until 4:43AM.

When I lay down and put my head on my pillow, tears rolled down my eyes and I sobbed quietly for more than 5 minutes.

I was tired!

I was overwhelmed and tired so much that I failed to realize how much I was hurting myself by being so hard on myself with so much work and activities . I was pushing my self so hard with no “break time”.

The early hours of that morning during my “breakdown” , I realized I needed a Break.

A break from everything because I was mentally and physically exhausted from everything. I needed time to rest my body and soul.

So I took a break from everything that demanded so much work from me.

I deleted my social media Apps, took a break from business, I couldn’t afford to take time from my 9–5 job anyways, but in this period , I made a promise to myself to actually take a break from the chaos of the world.

I activated my Netflix account, downloaded interesting podcast , bought some new books and sorted out for activities that’ll help me relax my mind and body.

My point?

Everybody needs a break time!!

When you feel overwhelmed, trounced , distressed or defeated? Then by all means take a break .

It helps. It enables us adjust, remold, restrategize and come back better at everything.

Bottom line ?

When you need a break, take it.
